MICE Club 3R Outreach Programme at YESCOM 2011
Members of our MICE Club participated in YESCOM (Young Entrepreneurs' Skills Competition) held on 3 July 2011 at HDB Hub's concourse from 9 am to 6 pm.
The organisers for this year's competition are KESUMA (the Malay Entrepreneurs Association) and ITE College East. KESUMA is the main organiser.
This year's theme was 'GREEN', and to gain extra points, participating schools should have at least 5 recycled items (in any quantity) to sell. Members of the public who wished to buy from any of the booths were required to purchase coupons before they could buy anything.
KESUMA takes 10% off the profit from each participating school and the balance 90% goes back as funds to MICE Club.
Our most expensive products were 2nd hand t-shirts and bags which were sold at $6 each and used photo frames at $5 each. Notebooks made from recycled items are sold at $3 each whilst bookmarks also made from recycled materials were sold at 2 for $1. Our main product, the grease remover, was sold at $3 each. Other smaller knick knacks were sold at $1 each.
